MARIJA DRAGOJLOVIĆ

She was born in 1950 in Šabac, in the former Yugoslavia. She attended grammar school in her native city and in Belgrade, where she graduated and then entered the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Department of Painting. She studied under Professors Mirjana Koka Mihać and Radenko Mišević, graduating under the latter in 1975, and completing her postgraduate studies in 1977.

She has been a member of ULUS (the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 1976.

Between 1985 and 2010, she worked at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.

She spent the autumn of 1989 in one of the Yugoslav studios at Cité des Arts in Paris.

She started exhibiting her work in 1975, and is the recipient of several awards:

1982: The 22nd Fine Arts Autumn, A Moment of Yugoslav Painting ’82, Sombor,
The Buy-up Prize;

1984: The 13th Nadežda Petrović Memorial, Čačak,
The Great Prize of the Nadežda Petrović Memorial;

The Studio B Award (ex aequo with Slobodan Milivojević Era)

2005: The 9th Spring Annual Exhibition, Čačak,
The City Library “Vladislav Petković-Dis” Award;

2007: The Ivan Tabaković Fund Award, Belgrade;

2010: The POLITIKA Award for Fine Arts from the Vladislav Ribnikar Fund
(ex aequo with Raša Todosijević), Belgrade.

2016: The Sava Sumanovic Award for Visual Arts, Novi Sad

Her works are exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Museum, the City of Belgrade Museum, The Zepter Museum and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, the Nadežda Petrović Gallery in Čačak, the City Museum in Sombor, the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Arts in Niš, the National Museum in Kruševac, the United Nations building in Geneva (as a gift of the Republic of Serbia), and are also featured in private collections in Serbia and abroad.
